Turlock Christian Beats Arch Rival Denair

Lady Eagles beat Denair.

There's something about Denair, maybe the colors, maybe the mascot, maybe the 2 mile distance between the schools, but the Eagles and the Coyotes relish beating each other.

Was the Super Bowl on Thursday this year, because there were a lot of tackles and hits that apparently are legal in basketball this year that were considered fouls in the past:-) Turlock Christian and Denair continued their rivalry with the Eagles winning the contest 65-35. The game seemed much closer as the two teams battled it out on the court like two heavy weight boxers. The officials seemed to call the game in streaks of bad and worst. Setting aside the tone set by the inconsistent officiating the Lady Eagles played a very good game. The man-to-man defense continued to be very effective as the team collected 12 blocked shots (Molly Zuhlke 5), dished out 17 steals (Erin Santiago 7) and pulled down 35 defensive rebounds (Erin 10). Offensively the girls had one of their best nights of the year shooting 47% from the floor and dishing out 17 assists, 7 each for Molly Farrar and Erin.

JV wins again.

The JV Girl Eaglets beat the Denair Coyotes for their 9th straight Southern League victory. Way to go Baby Birds:-)

The girls play at Waterford on Monday, Feburary 2 @ 6:00 (JV) and 7:30 (Varsity) come out and support the team.
