West Coast Jamboree Posted

2009 Summer Travel Team

The TC Lady Eagles will again be playing in the "West Coast Jamboree", the post-Christmas tournament in Antioch. The tournament is played in divisions that are contested in various high schools in and around the city of Antioch. Over the years the Eagles have been fairly successful, beating Sonoma Academy for 1st place in the Garnet Division in 2007. The tournament or "jamboree", if you like, is set up with 10 or more tournaments that have precious metal and gem names that "roughly" correspond to the strength of the teams in that particular tournament. This year TC is playing in the Diamond Division with some or the best schools in the state. This tournament may be worth stopping at on your way to a romantic, no grapes but plenty of "slankeit" (half sweater / half blanket) time, in a Napa Valley bed and breakfast;-)

The girls open with Bradshaw Christian from Sacramento, last year's Sac-Joaquin Section champions. The next day they may face Clovis, in the top ten in the Central Section, or Eastside Prep from East Palo Alto where 5'6 junior point guard, Ahjalee Harvey, considered one of the fastest and best ball handlers in the county, guides the Panthers.
