The Eagles Final Meet? Maybe Not

The TC Swimmin' Eagles headed north to Manteca High School on Tuesday to swim against Ripon and Manteca High Schools and dominated almost every event that they entered. The Eagles entered the Boys Varsity 200 IM (4 swimmers and 4 different strokes) with a coed team that consisted of Johanna Muller (Back), Daniel Braden (Breast), Colin Russell (Fly), and Rebekah Muller (Free) and won the event. I wonder what the boys from Ripon and Manteca were thinking?

Molly Zuhlke swam the Girls Varsity 200 Free and won by so much that I believe her hair was dry by the time the Manteca swimmer took second. After the first three events the Eagles had won all of them. One Manteca varsity swimmer told Molly Z that their team was afriad of the Eagle swimmers.

Rebekah and Colin swam the 100 Free in a special race head to head. Both their times were the fastest 100s of the day. Take a look at the video of the race.

The TCers swam another coed race against the Indians and the Buffaloes, the 200 Free Boys Varsity Relay. The swimmers included Micah Larrson, Molly Zuhlke, Rebekah Muller, and Colin Russell and won the race in a school record of 1:53.12. I believe those watching and those being beat by TC were impressed, but if they knew all the facts (the TC relay team consisted of 2 sophomores and 2 freshman) they might wake up screaming at night:O

Other outstanding swims included Micah and Daniel in the 100 Breast, Molly in the 100 Fly, Johanna in the 100 Back, and Rebekah and Colin in the 50 Free.

Way to go "Water Eagles"!

The Eagles Fans Are All Wet

The weather was not what one would call "fan friendly" at Thursday's swim meet at Pitman High School against the Pitman Pride and the Buhach Colony Thunder (Atwater). You would have never known that the weather was bad as TC may have had the most fans of any of the 3 schools at the meet. TC Swim 4-9-09 64
Mrs. Braden was seen desperately searching for the bathroom :O

Non-swimming Turlock Christian students and parents were out in droves for the meet.

This reporter counted somewhere between 20 and 7,123 TC fans in the stands and wandering the pool deck (closer to 20 then 7,123).

The weather served up on-and-off drizzle throughout the meet. The swimmers didn't mind at all, as wet is just another day in the pool, the fans had to suffer through the wet and surprisingly cold weather. Despite the weather the Eagles had a great time.

Royalty was seen at the meet, Princess Emily of Eagleton;-)

Everyone of the TC Eagle swimmers either won or placed in every event that they swam. For such a small group in the pool, 5 swimmers this week, they do very well. I am sure there have been more then one swimmer from the other schools that can't comprehend a small school like TC leaving their swimmers in their wake.

Molly Zuhlke lowered the school record in the JV 200 Free with a 2:37.something as she took 1st place. The timing system recorded the wrong time, but Coach Paul kept it on a stopwatch. We will get that exact time for you in the near future.

Rebekah Muller set a new JV 50 school record, even though Coach Paul announced over the PA system that she should be swimming varsity, with a JV CIF Section qualifying time of 25.31.

Micah Larrson improved his 50 Free time with a 29.60.

Colin Russell tied his own school record with a CIF Qualifying time of 23.38 in the varsity 50 Free.

Molly Zuhlke took 1st place in the JV 50 Fly, swimming it in 37.15.

TC Swim 4-9-09 49
Daniel Braden swam the JV 100 Free in 1:06.54.

The 100 Free was swam by Rebekah Muller in 55.86

TC Swim 4-9-09 58
Colin set a school record with a 52.86 in the Varsity 100 Free.

TC Swim 4-9-09 77
Micah Larsson won the JV 100 Breast with a 1:21.73 and Daniel placed 4th with a 1:25.73.

Water Fowl Impressive vs Manteca and Sierra

The TC Eagles swam at Sierra High School for the second week in a row, competing against Sierra and Manteca. Some impressive swims as school records were set in the 200 Free (Molly Zuhlke), JV 100 Free (Daniel Braden), and Varsity 50 Free (Colin Russell). Three swimmers were unable to preform do to sickness and injury.
